On similar lines Odias have in general a negative view towards maratha bravery as they are equated with Mughal looters. There is a phrase in Odia “Marahatta Kala” means ladies have to be all covered and live a fearful life due to Maratha invasion..

Sambalpuri is exclusively a dialect/Accent of Odia, highly influenced by Urdu/Hindi because of the Maratha rule, You don't follow perfect Odia grammar because you never learnt odia perfectly.

Odisha was  partly under Maratha rule since 1750.

Trivia-Like Bengal,in Odisha too there is whinning on bargis,although little.19th-20th century Odia writers hv only hate for Marathas in their histoical fiction books.

.Today is Jayanti of #JaiRajguru.Jayakrushna Mahapatra or Jai Rajguru-the great Odia Brahmin minister cum general of Bhoi Gajapati Mukundadeva-II,who allied with Marathas and took on British in first decade of 19th century.

Before Reddy,there was Paika Rebeliion,befre that there was the Odia-Maratha rebellion led by Jai Rajguru Mahapatra,before that there was the Paralakhemundi and Ghumsur rebellion.

This makes no sense. The Maratha sardars (Gaikwad,holkar scindhia,bhosale,Bunfdele)wr all from Maharashtra,so 1 cn call them Maratha in a regional sense. There were no Odia Maratha sardar or Rajput Maratha sardar.Maratha soldiers of different ethnicities?Yes ,but soldiers r mercs
