Yes..true... the movie was a success... though it was replete with songs... audience liked it...
Basanta Rasa.... was composed by Balakrishna Das...and was made with child artiste... the cassettes were released... fortunate to have a copy of the movie... from the producer... it featured Leena Mohanty as a child artiste ... now an accomplished Odissi dancer..
Kudos for documenting these art forms... you are doing a great job... which the Culture Deptt should be doing... and it’s many institutions....
It was primarily based on the Rahasa tradition, which received a new lease of life in the 20th century by the efforts of Mohan Sunder Deb Goswami and Babaji Baisnaba Charana Dasa. The rasa texts of the above two authors has highly influenced this selection of songs.

The Rahasa tradition wove into a single storyline the thousands of songs written about Radha-Krishna in Odisha since centuries : this particular selection has songs by Jayadeba, Pindika Srichandana, Banamali, Raghunatha Parichha, Bhanja, and even some by the compilers themselves.
'Basanta Rasa' was truer to the actual Rahasa form in my opinion— seemed more traditional. This one was a bit experimental.

Preservation of older cultural heritage is equally tough, probably tougher. But Odias generally are sensitized and do appreciate even small efforts.
For popular/modern culture, most don't care. Smaller efforts go completely unnoticed.
Had Srujanika not done it, our Govt/institutions would probably have digitized the medieval texts. But I doubt anyone would have bothered about Dipika, Utkala Sahitya, Mukura...
