They are doing that now.....some unavailable records are now officially available on YT and other platforms. Like He Banagiri He Latagiri, many of his Ramalila renditions, etc. A great deal of his remaining Odissi Chaupadi & Champu renditions are yet to be recovered.

Khan Mohammed (Khanu Mian) is believed to be the first recorded voice in Odia, recorded in 1907 by Gramophone Company.
But according to Australian researcher Michael Kinnear, Hemendra Mohan Bose of Kolkata had recorded Odia artistes on cylinder well before that

He even says French label Pathe which reissued some of Bose's recording on discs could have reissued some of these Odia recordings, though he is not sure. 
The name(s) of artiste(s) is/are not known.

ବହୁତ କଥା କହିବାକୁ ଅଛି, ଅନେକ ଗୀତି ଗପ ଲେଖିବାକୁ ଅଛି! କିଛି ମଠକଥା, କିଛି ମିଠାକଥା, କିଛି ମଜାକଥା, କିଛି ମିଛକଥା...କିନ୍ତୁ କାହିଁ ଇଚ୍ଛା ହେଉନି। କରୋନା କି ପରିବର୍ତ୍ତୀତ ପରିବେଶ-ଆସର...ଜଣାନାହିଁ, କିନ୍ତୁ ଅଜଣା ଭୟ ଓ ନିରୁତା ପଛଘୁଞ୍ଚା ଏବେ କିଛି କହିବାକୁ ଆକଟ କରୁଛି ଟୁଇଟରରେ। ପରିବର୍ତ୍ତନ ସହ ଖାପ ଖୁଆଇବା ଅସହଜ। #ସାମ୍ପ୍ରତିକୀ

ସେଇ ଟିକକ ଭଲପାଇବା ପାଇଁ ବେଣ୍ଟଟି ବନ୍ଧା ପଡିଛି ଏଠି। ନହେଲେ ଆନ୍ତରିକ ଆଗ୍ରହ ଉତ୍ସାହ କମିଗଲାଣି। ଓଡ଼ିଆମୀର ପ୍ରଚାର ପାଇଁ ଗୁଣ୍ଡୁଚିହେବା ତ ଦୂରର କଥା, ଏବେ ପିମ୍ପୁଡି ହେବାକୁବି ସାହସ ନାହିଁ🤣
ହଁ। ଏଇଠୁ ବହୁତ ଖୁସି ସାଉଁଟିଥିଲେ ଆମେ। ତେଣୁ ଏବେ କଷ୍ଟ ଲାଗୁଛି।

Gāyaka-Siromani Apanna Panigrahi (1893-1936), one of the great Odissi musicians of the last century. His voice mingled with the vīnā indistinguishably. He often moved people to tears by singing chhāndas. Utkalamani Gopabandhu was very fond of Apanna. #OdissiMusic

Unfortunately this tradition is no longer extant. There are no Maharis left, and with them is forever gone a huge amount of knowledge— that of Odissi classical music and dance.
